    Significance Statement
Significant for its association with the events of the 1992 uprising. This is the intersection at which Reginald Denny was beaten on April 29,1992, the first of six days of civil unrest. Though the unrest was widespread, this is the intersection that is most associated with the event. Does not meet the age requirement for National or California Register eligibility. And although it is a relatively recent event (fewer than 20 years), this is a significant event in the history of Los Angeles and sufficient time has passed to understand its importance for local eligibility.
