    Significance Statement
Research indicates that this property contains the remnants of the George E. Barrett Estate, including the main residence and a reconstructed windmill building. The residence appears to be an excellent example of Tudor Revival residential architecture designed by noted Westside architects John Byers and Edla Muir. In 1951, the estate was acquired by St. Matthew's Parish, and the main house repurposed as Founder's Hall. Several additional ranch outbuildings were also repurposed as school buildings; however, in 1969, these buildings were demolished to accommodate the extension of Bienveneda Avenue. Today, the main residence appears to be the only intact structure remaining from the original Barrett Estate. However, the property is not visible from the public right-of-way; therefore, the evaluation could not be completed.
