    Significance Statement
    The Yamada Company building is significant as the location of one of the oldest remaining Japanese American businesses in the Gardena area. The company moved to this location in 1956 from downtown LA. The company specializes in garden supplies and equipment. The business was an important hub for Japanese American gardeners, and represents the movement of the Japanese American community from Little Tokyo to Gardena after World War II.
